In an overview, in this speech and reading discussed about some interesting research on the power of information and how it affects in the society or how political scientist use them for control people. Deliberately, the essential indications in the lecture cast doubt on the fundamental points in the reading.

First of all, the lecture states that it is not the alone education is not the solution to society's problems and almost highly educated thinkers are less open to the new information. However, this is contrasts the topic in reading that the asserts that the solution to most problems societies face is a higher level of political sophistication that come from more education.

Furthermore, about to delve to changes people's mind, the lecture declares that in the usually facts do not change minds or cure misinformation. Although, this is opposite with clues of the reading that clearly indicates the fact checking us effective in correcting misinformation.

Finally, the lecture explain the people often base their opinions on their beliefs compare with on facts. Hence, if people feel threatened, they will not listen to new information and don't accept truth .While, this challenges the content in the text that believes the people advocate their opinions on facts and they will seek the truth.
