The figures given illustrate the changes that occurred at West Park Secondary School from its formation until the date with intervals of exactly 30 years in each. Overall, it shows that houses have been totally replaced with science blocks, and, farmland turned into the car park. Over time playgrounds shared areas with sports fields.
According to the diagrams, in 1950, there were houses near the school area with equal land of farmland. Space for school buildings and playgrounds was kind of qual to each other. But in 1980, after 30 years, it can be seen that the houses have been totally replaced with car parking and science block. The sports field replaced farmland while the school (main building) and the playground remained in the same location.
Exactly after 30 years, in 2010, the Science block and school building remained in the same place while the car parking area took the whole sports field of 1980. The sports field has been adjusted in nearly 1/3 portion of the playground area which made the playground way somehow smaller than it was.
To sum up, houses and farmland are totally replaced by the Science block and car park whereas the sports field has been added to the area of the playground.
