The line graph illustrates the changes in the percentages of over-65-year-old people in three different countries, namely Japan, Sweden, and the US, over a period of 100 years from 1840 to 1940.

Overall, the percentage of over-65-year-old people obtained an upward trend in all countries during the given time.

During a century, the proportion of over-65-year-old people in Sweden and the US had a small fluctuation, but the trend was upward and more than the figure for Japan during the first nine decades; and, both of them stopped at roughly 25%

Looking at the figure for Japan, it started at 5% in 1840, the percentage of Japan decreased slightly to nearly 3% in 1860, stabled at 3% from 1860 to 1880 and then rocketed, overcoming the USA and Sweden in 1930s. Japan had the highest point at above 27% at the end of the period.
