The chart below shows information about changes in average house prices in five different cities between 1990 and 2002 compared with the average house prices in 1989.

The chart demonstrates percentage change in average house prices in various cities during the period of 1990 to 2002 in comparison with one single year 1989.
Overall, the average cost of house in the first half of the studied period was considerately low compared to the marker year. In contrast, prices soared up in the second half of the period in all cities.
Looking into details, what stands out from the graph is the cost of house in London, despite a rock bottom during 1990 and 1995 which was cheapest among cities with approximately -8%, the figure skyrocketed in the next six years to almost reach 12%. The next thrust went to New York as the average amount relatively inexpensive with -5% in a half of the decade after 1989. However, it witnessed a jump in the following period when hitting exactly 5%.
Regarding to Madrid and Tokyo, it is clear that their figures experienced the same trend even though the rise was not as much as London and New York. The number was doubled for the former which was 2% in the first period and 4% thereafter while the latter saw a slight increase from roughly -8% to -5%. Conversely, Frankfurt was the only city which saw the drop in house prices by 0.5%
