The reading and the lecture are about salvage logging,which is one way of dealing with aftermath of these disasters.The aouthor of the reading belives that this process is benefitical for habitat and economy.The lecturer cast doubt on the claims made in the article.He thinks that these observations are not reflective.

First of all,the author claims that salvage logging ensure immediately fresh growth.She believes that thanks to salvage logging we can cope with some disaster such as forest fires and severe storms.This point is challenged by the lecturer.She says that decomposing of ineffective threes is not necessary.Furthermore,she points out that growing immediately depends on nutrion rate into soil.She thinks soil quality is more important for growing.

Secondly,the author states that decaying of threes cause to occur insects and it is very harmful for threes.He argues that insects such as bark beetle is very danger for the other threes that still live.The lecturer rebuts this argument.She suggest that not all kinds of insects are harmful for threes.She elaborates on this by mentioning that birds and insects have crucial role over threes for long term sustainability.

Finally,the author mentions that salvage logging has advantage over economy.He is of the opinion that salvege logging create more employment than traditional logging operations.İt helps to occur new job area.The lecturer,on the other hand,states that its economic advantages are very small and limited.She puts forth the idea that salvage logging cost is very expensive.For example they shold use helicopter for this operation and it is very expensive.

Conclusion,the lecturer effectively cast doubt on all of claims and theories presented in the reading passage.
