The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the consumption of meat and fish products like chicken, beef, lamb and fish from the year 1979 to 2004 in European countries. The trend in consumption of beef, lamb and fish is similar in case of declining stage. And the consumption of chicken has rocketed with in the 35 years of period.

It is apparent that chicken is most consumed meat product in 2004 which has significantly raised from1979 to 2004 (about 140grams to 250grams). And fish is least consumed in Europe from year 1979 to 2004 which has steadily fell from about 60 grams to 50 grams.

The consumption of beef and lamb have fell significantly during the 35 years of period. Beef was most consumed meat product during the year 1979 which was consumed about 215 grams per person. But it is declined by about 185 grams in year 2004. Similarly, lamb was second highest consumed meat in 1979 which fell significantly to the year 2004.

In conclusion, chicken consumption increased in European countries which increased significantly while meat of beef and lamb fell drastically. It shows chicken is most preferred meat item in Europe. Where as, fish is least preferred in Europe which has decline steadily from year 1979 to 2004.
