In any situation, progress requires discussion among people who have contrasting points of view.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.
Even though there are many people who think that drawing a conclusion without having any argument, is the best way to get success; I share the idea that discussion would allow people to understand their points of view from different angles, and a better solution can be built with the participation of each one.
In a country, not all citizens share the same political, social or economic beliefs. Each one has their own point of view about these topics. For instance, when talking about education and health, a group of people could say, that the government should invest more in the education field, since this portrays the future of the nation. On the other hand, other people could support the idea that having a healthy society would allow to thrive and success in many fields. In this example, we can point out that if the President tended to agree with one side or with the other, it would immediately generate a disagreement among people and in no way, it can generate progress or development. The best way to manage thess situations is to take the opinions from both sides and find the pros and cons of each point of view. In this way, the President of a nation could take the best decision that benefit the whole country.
In the same way, the statement can be related to our daily lives. Say for example, in a family, dad and mom always discuss about different situations that take place at home everyday. They are always looking for the best for their children and in order to get this, they have to put in a scale their ideas and arguments. If they didn't do that, the problem would continue around the house not allowing children to live in a peaceful and joyable place. According to a newspaper article, the 90% of parents that keep an excellent relationship among them, has had success at their homes.
The statement points out that progress always requires discussion, and as we mentioned in the previous examples, a country or a family can generate an excellent environment if they take into account the contrasting points of view.
