The best way to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones

Anyone who want to learn something should not be disheartened if some of the actions they might have committed while learning receives a negative response. In the same way, a person teaching something to someone should not hide negative actions the learning person might have committed. Teaching is a tough job because, it requires the teacher to correct the student whenever the students commits a mistake and notify that mistake to the student. Just by praising the positive actions doesn't help the learner to learn better because as the saying goes," People learn from their mistakes."

The above saying is so true because, people do learn from their mistakes. For example, when a student is trying to solve a problem, he is actually learning to solve that problem. When he solves the problem , the teacher will definitely praise for the effort he puts-in to solve that problem and if the student has committed any mistakes then the teacher should notify it to the student. Because, when the student solves the problem again, then he will be aware of his mistake he did previous time and will be more cautious while solving it. And also this will make the student learn better.

Ignoring negative actions is not good, because, for example, when a person is learning to drive a car, then, for example, if the learner will commit a serious mistake, like, at a stop sign, if the learner does not stop and look for incoming vehicles, and also after this mistake, if the learner makes the turn smoothly and drive really well, then the instructor will praise the learner for the smooth turn, but also the instructor should not ignore the mistake he committed. If he does so, then the learner will never come to know about his mistake and may always commit this until he is notified about his negative action. Even if positive actions are not praised negative actions should be criticized because, the best way to learn is to learn from our mistakes.

Also the advantage of criticizing is, lot of adverse effects can be avoided .If the person is notified about his mistake, then the person will not do the same thing again. But, at the same time, always criticizing is not good because, this damage a person's confidence and maybe not be interested to do anything thinking that the person will be always wrong. This kind of attitude is not good either. Also, on the other hand, always appreciating without criticism is also not good because, the person will become arrogant and treats himself as the perfect human being on the earth which also leads to lot of destruction.

Hence, appreciation and criticism , both should be part of learning process if the person wants to learn better.
