Please evaluate my argument essay
Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been made only by the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could have crossed it only by boat, and no Palean boats have been found. Thus it follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not uniquely Palean.
Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

The argument that the woven baskets that have been previously found in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River were believed were not uniquely the Palean, is not entirely logically convincing , since it lacks several crucial information regarding the culture of Palea and Lithos, specifying the era, the effect of natural phenomena on the Brim River.

First, the argument neither specifies specific features for those woven baskets, nor the culture of the people of Palea of Lithos to prove that they have been made by them. The argument ignores the assumption that these baskets were made by another group and were found at this place due to a certain kind of trade at that time or any sort of acquisition.

Second, the argument did not mention the era in which these baskets were found, they could be modern or an era following the time where the people of Palea lived there. Therefore there is a flaw in the argument due to lack of information .

Third, the fact that the Brim River is very deep and broad is not convincing because natural phenomena could have major effects on the river as year passes by. Hence the river years ago could have been narrower and not that deep and the baskets could have been floating or transferred by people swimming.

Finally, referring to the fact that there were no Palean boats found is not convincing because that does not mean that they were transferred only by Palean boats, they could by transferred by Lithos boats. Also there is no evidence or proof on how the Palean boats look like or the Lithos boats, there might be no difference between both of them.

Thus, the argument is not completely sound. The evidence in support of the conclusion that the woven baskets that have been previously found in Lithos were not uniquely Palean, lacks several crucial assumptions. Ultimately the argument might have been strengthened if the author mentions the difference between the two cultures to identify how it would be presented on the woven baskets. Also if the archeologist mentioned the exact era this would prove when exactly they were made or how they could have been transferred.
