The bar chart illustrates changing patterns of contribution of agriculture, manufacturing, and business and financial sectors to the economy of UK from 1900 to 2000.
In 1900, the contribution of agriculture sector was 48%. After 50 years, it hitted a peak of 52%. And then, by each 25 years contribution started to fall. Firstly, it significantly decreased by almost 40% and finally, it reached the lowest point(11%).
Comparing to erratic changes in agriculture sector, declines in the manufacturing sector were relatively gradual. Between 1900 and 1975 the percentage slightly fell by 12%. Then after 25 years, it decreased two-fold,hitting a low of 15%.
In comparison with agriculture and manufacturing sectors, whose percentage declined, the contribution of business and financial sectors in the UK economy substantially grew. Over the period of 100 years, it rose from only 3% to almost 33%. This ends my report.
