In 1990 and 1950, the contribution of agriculture and manufacturing are significantly higher than that of business and financal services. During those 60 years, agriculture took up half of the whole country's economy, which is followed by manufacturing (40-45%). Whereas the value of business and finance was approximately 5 times lower than the two previous.
Later, starting from the 70s to 2000, the position order completely changed when the prior top factor dropped to the bottom at the end of the period with less than 5%. Manufacturing seemed to follow the trend as it gradually reduced half of the devotion and reached 20% in 2000. However, started from the bottom - business and finance raised considerably in the two latter periods of time by 10 times higher (40%).
As we can see from the graph, all the 3 elements shown had their ups and downs in the last century and favourably will continue to give out unstable contribution to the economy of the UK.
