The given bar chart compares internet surfing time on average spend by boys and girls in the age-group 10 to 15 years mainly on chatting and games in a school in the UK.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that although the majority of the boys spend maximum time playing games, girls choose most of their time doing chatting.
According to the given illustration, following the same pattern, about a quarter of each gender spend less than an hour chatting, which adds up to about 25% in total. Also, nearly 10% fewer boys invest in chatting within the same time window(1 to 3 hours) as compared to 35% of the girls that totals to nearly 58%. However, only 5% of the children spend time chatting for longer hours( 2% boys, and 3% girls).
Turning to the games console, nearly 23% of the girls spend 1 to 3 hours on games, which is approximately half of the boy's proportion and together they account for 10%. On the contrary, whilst only 3 in every 10 boys spend the least time on games, 6% more girls fall in the same window, resulting in 32% in all. However, among both the sexes, only boys spend the highest time window on games( 1 in 10 proportion) as against just 1% of the girls(nearly 4% in total).
