The table illustrates what percentage of female, male adults and children incomes’ spent on 4 various categories of items in UK, namely, food, electronic equipment, music, videos in 1998.
Overall, the adults spent most on food, which was almost greater 5 times from electronic equipment and music expenditures, whereas the children had a keen interest to pay out much more on music and videos rather than necessary staff like food, electronic equipment.
In terms of food, it can be seen that adults spend ¼ of their income on food. In detail, the women showed the largest spending, 39%, on food, while this figure accounted for 10% for men. With regards to video spending, only 1 percentage of young people expended on videos.
In 1998, the majority of children income was spent on music and electronic equipment, 39%, 23%, respectively. In comparison, only 5% of girls’ salary was preferred to spend on electronic equipment. Although the spending of boys is the lowest in food only 9%, the electronic and videos expenditures showed the exactly the same figures, 18%.
