However, in 1900 younger individuals at the age of 27 to 36 years started living alone by a proportion of 2 percent. The percentages of other age groups in this year witnessed a slight rise to almost 3.5 percent.
In 1950, the oldest age group's share experienced a sharp incline to 9 percent, while the youngest age group of 17 to 26 years began to live alone at a proportion of 2 percent. The rest of the proportions remained at almost the same level compared to 1900. On the other hand, all the categories grew in terms of living alone in 2000, reaching shares of 5 to 17 percent.
