The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of men's role at senior position in mainly three multinational companies IBM, Microsoft and Apple surveyed over a period of 30 years from 1980 to 2010.
In the overall trend, it is evident that over the three decades, the contribution of senior men kept on rising significantly in all the three companies, with the highest proportion in IBM.
Getting back to details, IBM hired only one-tenth of men at senior level as compared to other two countries. However, this rose steadily to 30% in 2000. After which, a sudden spike in the number raised the participation to the peak value above 60%.
In contrary, nearly 10% senior men were offered positions in Microsoft during the first decade. Later, a continuous increasing pattern was witnessed in the number. Finally, in 2010, number soared to more than 40%. On the other hand, in 1980 slightly above 10% were joined by Apple, which were the largest among all. In 2010, it jumped to 22% after few fluctuations, but remained at the lowest position as compared to others.
