Essay topics:

The bar graph shows the global sales (in billions of dollars) of
different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006.

The given bar chart details the statistical report showing how much money(in billion dollars) is made from the sale of four different digital games over a period of 6 years from 2000 to 20006.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over the period as a whole, the handheld games continued to lead the chart, despite the emergence of other popular mobile and online games. However, the console business witnessed a reverse trend.

According to the given illustration, to begin with, console games stood at half of the sales recorded from the handheld ones(nearly $12 billion). Moving on, although online and mobile games entered the market at only $2 billion sales in 2002, the handheld kept on rising significantly as compared to the console which fell slightly by a billion dollar.

Furthermore, in 2004, whilst the mobile and online games grew to reach on par with the console sales, the handheld rose dramatically, reaching at $15 billion. Thereafter, whereas the console games plummeted drastically by 50% of its initial value, the handheld sky-rocketed to a peak of $18 billion by the year-end. By contrast, the online games surpassed the mobile ones by nearly $2 billion during this period.
