Overall, on the weekends, children tend to spend more time with their parents. In addition, on weekdays, children spend more time with their mothers while they play more with both moms and dads on Saturdays and Sundays.
On weekdays, all children in 5 age groups ranging from 0 to 9 years old spend about 60-70% of their time with moms, especially 2-3 year-old children, who spend about 6 hours with moms while only under 1 hour for dads and 2 hours for their parents. Children who are 8-9 years old spend the highest amount of time, over 9 hours per day, whereas those who are 2-5 years old only use about 8.5 hours playing with parents.
On the weekends, children spend about 60% of the daytime with both moms and dads. The highest amount of time at over 10/24 hours is spent by 4-5 year-old kids on playing with their parents, while children who are 0-1 year old only spend under 9 hours per day on the same purpose. Children at 3 other age groups spend about 9-10 hours per Saturday and Sunday, much higher than the amount of time spent from Mondays to Fridays.
