In 1990, it stood at 2.8 million, which was near about double then the previous years. After that, the population rate went up dramatically, and after 20 years, it reached 3 million. It is estimated that in 2020, it will peak at 3.2 million
In case of the death rate, from 1970 to 1990, the number of the deaths rose gradually, which increased from 1 million to 1.5 million. After that, there was a significant decrease observed. It decreased to 1.1 million in 2000, and it is predicted that, in 2020, the mortality rate will stand at 0.7 million.
