The chart given illustrates the number of cars in each household in the UK in 30 years, from 1975 to 2005

Overall, the percentage of three or two cars owned by the household slightly increase, meanwhile the figure for those who owned one or no car fluctuated during the researched.

Starting at the point of below 5 percent in 1975, the ownership of 3 cars owners rose to 5%, steadily increased to 6 percent before went on considerably to nearly 10% in 2005. Similarly, the year 1975 witnessed a trend of owning 2 cars in everyy household which increased to 14% and then constantly rose to nearly 20%, double than that in 1975.

In contrast, the rate of who own one car was 45% in 1975, dropped significantly to about 40 percent before rising substantially after 20 years, The figure for the propotion of not having any car decreased significantly ahalf of it, from 43% to nearly 25% in the year 1985. That rate continously fell to above 20% by the end of the period.
