The graph depicts information about the number of Europeans in numerous age groups who take part in gym activities on a regular basis, measured in percentages, in a period of 20 years.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is apparent that the majority went to the gym was young people aging 24 to 33 while this number of middle-aged people was the least. In addition, the rate of gym enrollment of all age groups seem to increase over the period.

At the beginning of the period, adolescents who aged 24 to 33 accounted for about 17% of gym takers while this figure of individuals who were over 44 only stood at 5%. In 1998, the figure of young people under 33 who went to the gym experienced a noticeable drop. By contrast, in the same year, the number of adults in the gym who were in 34-43 and 44-53 age group witnessed a slight increase, adding up to 6% and 8% respectively.

In 2006, the number of young people who entered the gym, aged from 18 to 23, peaked at 25%. From 2006 onwards, the Europeans citizens of all age group witnessed a gradual rise, with the exception of the number of 18-23 age group which dropped sharply to about 18%.
