The bar chart illustrates the amount of oil produced in six countries between 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the oil production increased during in most of the countries, except for Qatar. The greatest amount of oil was produced in Saudi Arabia while Qatar produced the least.
In 1990, over 8 million of barrels per day was produced in Saudi Arabia, while the figure for Qatar was just around 1 million. During the period, Saudi Arabia experienced a dramatic increase, from approximately 9 million barrels in 2000 to over 14 million barrels in 2010. In contrast, despite a slight rise in 2000, the oil production of Qatar still remained under 2 million barrels per day during the surveyed period.
Iran was the second country to produce oil most, at more than 3 million barrels in 1990. It was followed by the UAE, which produced more than 2 million barrels of oil per day. The figures for the other countries Iraq and Kuwait were around 2 million barrels. All four countries had the same increasing trend, to more than 4 million for Iran, slightly around 4 million for Iraq and the UAE, and finally over 3 million barrels for Kuwait in 2010.
