The pie chart compares the five categories of expenditures in the UK and New Zealand over the period of 28 years.

Overall, the largest proportion of total expense in New Zealand is food and drinks, while the UK spent on leisure. However, food and drink fell in in both countries, and lowest expenses for other expenses.

The largest proportion of total expenditures is accounted for leisure in the UK (27%) in the year of 1980 and it rose 7% to reach 34% in 2008, and it was three fold of other expenses. The half of total expense are taken by food and drinks, and utility bills, where the difference between them is exactly 3%. However, though former declined at 13% ,latter experienced a rise of 2% to reach at 28%. Transportation cost are approximately similar in both year with a slight drop.

Food and drinks are stood at highest positions in New Zealand in 1980 and fell about 4%, in 2008. The costs of utility bills is around threefold as high as that of other expenses in both years. There are almost no difference between transport and leisure expenses in 1980 as well as after 28 years later.
