The chart below shows how frequently people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.

The bar chart illustrates how many times Americans ate fast food in three given years (2003, 2006, and 2013).

Overall, the majority of people consumed fast food either once a week or at least once a week from 2003 to 2013. On the other hand, people who never and every day went to fast food restaurant accounted for the least proportion.

In 2003, the number of people ate fast food once a week was a little over 30%, then the figure went up by 2% to 33% but in 2013 it drop significantly to around 27%. For people who ate fast food once or twice a month, the percentage was 30% in 2003 but the figure declined sharply to 25% in 2006. However, number of people who consumed fast food rose considerably to about 33%.

In the category of several times a week, the percentage of people ate fast was approximately 17% and then went up to 20%. In 2013, the figure dropped to 16%. There was an increase in number of people eating fasting food from 2003 to 2006 and the figure remained the same in 2013. Proportion of people who ate fast food every day or never kept under 5% for the given years.
