The chart below shows how frequently people in the USA ate at fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.

The illustration represents changes in the six categories of American people who went to fast food restaurants over a decade, from 2003.

Overall, the frequency of once a week and once or twice a month accounted for a majority during then years among people living in the USA while there was a small percentage of Americans who avoided fast food or ate it every day.

On the one hand, in 2003, 17% of American people chose to visit fast food restaurants several times a week, which was just half as much as their counterparts who did once a week and once or twice a month (31% and 30% respectively). 2006 saw an increase in the percentage of several times a week (nearly 5%) and once a week ( reaching its peak at 32%) but witnessed a drop of almost 8% in the number of once or twice a month. In 2013, American's most frequency pattern was once or twice a month while 2013 saw a reduction of about 5% of several times a week and once a week.
On the other hand, the percentage of never or every day were all below 5% during the whole period.
