The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to the cinema once a month or more in one European country from 2000 to 2011.

Given is the line graph contrasting the rate of cinema-goers categorized into four discrete age groups in a particular European country over a phase of 11 years, commencing from 2000.

Perceptibly, residents in any group of age were inclined to frequent the cinema over the years. Furthermore, despite sustained fluctuation in the proportion, those in the age of 15 to 24 preferred to watch movies in cinemas more than the other three groups.

Accounting for by far the highest rate in the first year with approximately 16%, the 15- to 24-year-olds experienced an accretion in the rate to 32% four years later. The period of the next 6 years brought volatility in the vicinity of 32% and 52% of people who visited the cinema before reaching its zenith of around 55% in some early months of the year 2011. Even though a minimal drop in the percentage was recorded in the later months of 2011, it still ranked first compared to the others’. By contrast, the oldest group with people who were 35 years or so always constituted the lowest rate despite a 12 percent leap from merely 1% in the first year to 13% in the last year given.

A 6 percent disparity in the proportions of the youngest group aging from 7 to 14 and the 25 to 35 age group was documented in the year 2000 with the former’s starting point at 10%. These two groups shared a similar soaring trend when both rates reached their peak of 38% for the former and 33% for the latter in 2010. The last year witnessed the slump in the youngest group’s rate while the reverse was true for the other; however, both ended up at sharply 30%, which ranked second in the percentage of people watching films in the cinema.
