The graph indicates the time was spent in phone calls including fixed lines and mobiles in the UK in the period of 1995 – 2002. Generally speaking, the number of minutes spent for fixed line in both national and international calls as well as mobile calls increased while local calls of fixed line experienced a fluctuated trend during the period.

To begin with, the largest amount of time of phone call went for local-fixed line, followed by the fixed line calls in both domestic and oversea. Mobiles in all category of phone call had the smallest amount that people spent for calling. Specifically, local-fixed line consumption increased from 72 billion minutes in 1995 then reached a peak in 1999 with 90 billion minutes. It eventually fell down to the same quantity of the year 1995 in 2002.

In a different situation, domestic and global calls in fixed line and mobiles rose their amount of minute year-by-year. The fixed line of domestic and oversea consumption gradually raised while the mobile calls consumption increased sharply. Mobiles started its incredible rises from 1999 till the end of the period of 2002.
