The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the export earnings of a country in billions of dollars from five product categories, while the table illustrates the percentage change in export revenue between 2015 and 2016.

Overall, the majority of earnings came from petroleum and engineered goods, while the export amount increased in 2016 than the figure for the previous year, except for gems and jewelry commodities.

Concerning petroleum products, there was a moderate increase in export value, from just over 60 billion dollars to approximately 63 billion dollars (a 3% increase). Likewise, the export value of engineered goods grew up significantly, accounting for 8.5%.

The remaining categories recorded lower export earnings. The amount of money gained from exported gems and jewelry declined considerably, at 5.18%, from around 43 billion dollars in 2015 to just above 40 billion dollars in 2016. In contrast, there was a sharp rise in the export earnings of textiles, from about 25 to over 30 billion dollars in 2016, while the figure for agricultural products was fairly steady, hovering at around 30 billion dollars.
