The bar chart provides information about how much oil barrel was discovered globally from 1950 to 2005 and the amount that is projected to be found onwards up to year 2020.
Overall, there was an increase in the amount of oil that was discovered for the first ten years but it then fluctuated and considerably plummeted 45 years after. It is also foreseen that the amount of oil that will be uncovered will continue to decrease in the future.
To start with, twenty billion barrels of oil were found during 1950. Following 5 years later, people discovered 25 billion of barrels and then a significant rise in oil barrel was uncovered in year 1960 at about 58 billion that year. It should be noted that the discovery reached its peak in year 1965, finding a little less than 60 billion barrels of oil. After that, there was a notable drop of oil discovery, amounting to 45 billion barrels, in year 1970 and eventually a fluctuation afterwards but on downward trend reaching 7 billion barrel in 2005.
In the future, according to data presented, it is foreseen that in 2010 the finding will increase slightly for about 10 billion barrels and then it will further decrease to approximately 4 billion barrels.
