Overall, it is clear that most of the Americans ate fast food moderately, while there was no significant change in the number of people who ate every day or never had fast food.
By 2003, almost 30 percent of Americans ate junk foods, before it increased to 33% in 2006 and after that experienced a sharp decline to over a quarter. In contrast, the number of Americans who ate once or twice a month declined from a third in 2003 to 25 percent in 2006 before it increased again by 8 percent after a 7-year period.
On the other hand, the frequency of eating in fast food restaurants for several times a week rose from over 15 percent to one in fifth by 2006 and dropped back to the same amount in 2013. Likewise, the Americans who ate a few times a year became more from 12 percent in 2003 to 15 percent in 2006 and remained same in 2013.
