The chart shows the proportion of renewable energy in total energy supply in 4 countries from 1997

to 2010.

The bar chart compares four nations, namely Australian, Sweden, Iceland and Turkey, in terms of the percentage of renewable energy in the total energy production over the course of 13 years starting from 1997.

Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that Iceland and Sweden witnessed an upward trend in the use of renewable energy sources in the three years. Among the four countries, this type of energy was the most popular in Iceland.

In 1997, almost half of the total energy produced in Iceland came from renewable resources with around 45%, nine times higher than that of Sweden. In just three years, this figure went up strongly to 60% in 2000 and continued to climb steadily by about 10% in the last ten years. By contrast, the amount of renewable energy produced in Sweden, which increased trivially at approximately 10% in 2010.

Regarding Australia, nearly 10% of the energy supply was from renewable resources in 1997, compared to approximately 38% in Turkey. While this kind of energy in Australia decreased slightly to about 7%, the figures for Turkey rose slightly to over 40% in 2000. Over the following ten years, the rate of renewable sources in Australia and Turkey fell down roughly 5% and around 32%, respectively.
