The chart compares the shares of British students who spoke the different languages apart from English in a given university in the yeas of 2000 and 2010.

Overall, it is noticeable that there is a fluctuant trend for all language categories of student, except for that of German speaking ones. Additionally, what stands out of the graph is that Spanish language has gained the most fame among the students by making the highest rates on records in both years.

The part of students who can talk in two other languages besides English increased significantly from 10% to 15%, whereas a considerable fall from 20% to 10% was experienced in the proportion of the students who has no any language proficiency in addition to English between the years 2000 and 2010. This percentile for student portion of another language went up from 15% to 20% in 2010.

In comparison with the indicator of 2000, a number of British students who were capable of speaking in French language declined importantly from 15% to 10%, however this trend is positive for Spanish speakers by hitting their new highest point at 35%. German speakers are levelled off at 10%.
