Cinema attendance by age group
The line graph illustrates the proportion of cinema attendance classified by age group in Britain between 1984 and 2000.
In general, the percentage of all groups increased throughout 16 years and people from 15 to 24 years old went to the theater more than other groups.
Young people of 15 to 24 years old were interested in cinema the most with about 17% in 1987 then gradually went up and fluctuated in the period of 1991 and 1995. The figure finally ended up with over 52% in 2000, this number was by far other groups of age.
The proportions of cinema attendance who were 7 to 14 years old and 25 to 35 years old were about 10% and 4% in 1984, respectively. The figures then steadily rose up and were almost the same with over 30% in 2000. People who were more than 35 years old less rather went to cinema than younger people with nearly 0% in 1984 then this number slightly increased to over 10% in 2000.
