It is clear that the figure for temperature in Kolkata remains quite stable during a period of 12 months, while this period saw a sharp fluctuation in average rainfall. Precipitation is highest between July and August, and temperature stands at peak in around May.
Between the months of Janurary and May, average temperature in Kolkata rises smoothly, from 20℃ to around 30℃. Precipitation saw a similar increase, achieves 100mm in April.
The temperature stays relatively stable in the following five months, and in October, the figure is just below 30℃. During this period, a large change happens on the level of rainfall. In July, average precipitation reaches its peak among the whole year, at over 330mm, which is also more than three times the amount in May. And then, it remains in a high level, until starts to drop dramatically in October, at below 150mm. In December, average rainfall drops to its bottom among the whole year, at 10mm, and the figure for temperature is 20℃, just as the same as it in January.
