The diagram illustrates the way stormwater is collected and reused for domestic purposes in an Australian city.
Overall, it is clear that there are 5 stages in the process of recycling rainwater, begin with collecting water and ending with clean water being pumped back to the houses.
To begin with, the rainwater is stored in the system of drains under the houses, before being pumped down to the recycling plant. In this water plant, several unhealthy objects are removed through 4 minor stages. Plastic and rubbish as the biggest things are being eliminated first, followed by mini particles in the second step. Then water is purified from bacteria and viruses to prevent diseases. Finally, the last things being removed are molecules, as well as salt.
In the third stage, chlorine is added to water with 4mg per liter. After that, the clean water is stored in the storage. Then the water is pumped back to houses, being used for household purposes in the final stage.
