The process used by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology involves four different stages, from the collection of information to the broadcast of the forecast.
During the first stage incoming information is collected by satellites, radars and drifting buoys. In the next stage information is processed. Satellite photos, radar screen and synoptic charts - obtained by satellites, radars and buoys - are analysed and the weather forecasting is made. After that the broadcast is prepared using computers. Finally, the broadcast takes place in different media as TV shows where the weather forecast is presented by newsreaders, by radio and by recorded telephone announcements.
