The diagram depicts the production of electricity in hydroelectric power station. Overall, it is readily apparent that the process starts from holding River water in the Upper-level Reservoir and ends with transmitting electricity to the National Grid.
In detail, the process begins with holding water from River into High-level Reservoir. The water then flows through the Dam, which only opens during the daytime. After that, the water keeps flowing into Reversible turbines, which then powers Generator to produce electricity, which is then transferred into National Grid through Power lines. The excess of the water then enters the Lower-level Reservoir.
At night, the water from Lower-level reservoir then flows through the Reversible turbines, which pumps the water into Upper-level reservoir. The flow of water then stays on the pipeline until the Dam opens again at the daylight. After the Dam opens, the water goes into the High-level Reservoir and the cycle starts again.
