The diagram illustrates how to make ethanol fuel from corn.

From an overall perspective, it is clear that there are 9 stages in the process, commencing with corn being harvest and culminating with ethanol being delivered to the gas station.

In the first stage of the process, corn is collected and then stored in a warehouse. After that, the corn is milled. The process continues with water being added to the milled corn, then the mixture is cooked for 4 hours. The corn undergoes a fermentation stage which lasts for 45 hours before going through further processing.

In the next stage of the process, solid by-product is filtered out from the fermented mixture and purified in 5 hours. The liquid output from the mixture is ethanol. Subsequently, it is transported to the gas station after being stored.
