Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The provided diagram illustrates how solar energy can be converted to electricity by the use of solar panels for domestic purposes.

Overall, it requires five major equipments to run the process of converting the sun's energy to electricity and distributing it over the house, and also to the grid network.

To begin with, the roof of a particular house is to be used to spread the solar panels over, which gets charged by the sun's energy and provides a DC current. Next, these panels are wired to an inverter, where conversion from DC to AC current takes place. This inverter also functions for regulating electricity and its production. Here, the electricity generating process gets completed.

For the distribution part, an electrical panel is installed for your home. Its function is to transfer the electricity to all the types of equipment used in the house. Moreover, a utility meter is also provided, this works when if extra electricity is generated as compared to its usage in the house, it will release into the grid by it. In contrast to this, a connection from the nearest pole of the utility grid is also provided, in case, the consumption of electricity of a particular house exceeds the production then it will be fulfilled by this grid connection.
