The given diagram illustrates the metamorphosis of a frog.
In general, the process encompasses 6 main stages, most of which take place in the marine environment. Moreover, the repeated cycle commences with small frogs eggs and culminates in the mature ones.
At the first stage of a frog’s life, the mating process occurs when male and female frogs meet one another, which results in a large number of eggs called frogspawn. These frogspawns then hatch and infant tadpoles emerge. Over time, small tadpoles become mature ones when they develop their 2 lower limbs.
During the fourth stage, the body structure of this amphibian gets more intricate as two upper limbs appear and its tail shrinks. It is now called young frog. Next, the tail disappears and all four limbs are well-functioned when the frog is fully grown up. At this step, this species alters its habitat and acclimatize to life on land. At the final stage, the frog is ready to reproduce a new generation and the cycle begins anew.
