Overall, there are seven steps in the whole process which involves a faucet, a stand attaching two plastic bottles one of which has a hole at its bottom as well as another hole on its side near its neck area and the other bottle has its neck cut off.

In the first stage, the faucet would be turn on to drip water into the first bottle which is taped at the top part of the stand. Then, fingers should be used to cover the bottom hole, so that water can fulfil the bottle. When the water is full up to the side hole which is glued with a straw, this straw would keep the water from overflowing and help it to maintain at a constant level.

Next, fingers should be moved away to let the water drop into the second bottle which is put at the bottom of the stand. At this stage, the second bottle can be marked with pens at levels of water after one minute or two minutes of dripping. When the second bottle is full of water, it can be emptied and the whole process can start over again to time things.
