The diagrams below show the changes that have taken place at West Park Secondary School since its constructions in 1950.
The 3 maps are representing alterations in West Park Secondary School over the 60-year period from 1950 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear from the maps that houses and farmland had been removed over the 6 decades. Instead of them, car park, and science block and sports arena were added.
In 1950, there were houses and farmland at the west of West Park Secondary School. However, by 1980, they had been changed to car park, science block and sports field respectively.
Such dramatic differences are not seen when we compare the maps which are in 1980 and 2010. In 2010, because of rising number of cars in society, area of sports field reduced almost 3 times. Moreover, the playground witnessed a slight reduction which was situated at south-east side of West Park Secondary School.
Main road and school building, which were located in north side of the maps, were unchanged. As well as, science block that was built in 1980 remained steadily.
