The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The mentioned diagrams illustrate the different phases in development of adult salmon which is a species of large fish.

Overall, as is represented by the diagrams, there are three main stages in the lifecycle for complete development of salmon from eggs to adult which takes about a decade to reach the open sea and as it grows the size of the salmon varies in each of different phases.

In the beginning, the salmon eggs are found in the upper river which is slowing moving where the salmon eggs reside under the reeds between the small stones for approximately 5-6 months. After that, eggs are turned into small fish which is called fry that grows up to 3-8cm in length.

In the next phase, fry moves towards the lower river which is fast flowing where it spends nearly 4 years of its lifespan. Then, after four years the size of it grows the up to 12-15 cm which is known as ‘smolt’. Next to it, for the growth of adult salmon it takes about 5 years and grows up to 70- 76 cm long. Finally, the salmon completes its journey of lifecycle from the slow moving river to open sea after nearly about a decade.
