The table shows the working hours of employees by gender, and the bar chart lists the main reasons why men and women prefer to work remotely in 2019.

Overall, it is clear that men and women often present different justifications for working from home, and that males typically log more hours at home.

First off, there were nearly equal numbers of men and women who said that saving money was their top motivation for staying at home, with 45% for men and 42% for women. Additionally, being productive was the least worrying factor for women (11% against 24% for men), while childcare was the least worrying factor for men (4% versus 28% for women).

Turning to the bar chart, 81% of men reported working more than 30 hours per week, in contrast to only 6% of women. In the category of workweeks under ten hours, the tendency is reversed, with over three-quarters of female employees in this range. The category of workers who work 10 to 30 hours per week experiences minimal to no fluctuations.
