The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purpose.

The first diagram describes how cement is made and what kinds of equipment are required, and the second one illustrates the way that concrete is produced from cement for building purposes. Overall, there are five stages in the cement production, in which devices including crushers, mixers, rotating heaters and grinders are required, while four kinds of raw material in various proportions are necessary for concrete production.

Starting with the first flow chart, raw materials of limestone and clay are together put into a crusher where they are crushed into powder. Then the powder is transported to a mixer in which it is further mixed. Through a pipe, the mixed powder is conveyed to a rotating heater for being heated. Finally, the hot powder is delivered by a belt to a grinder where it is ground to cement, which is then packed into bags.

Turning now to the second diagram, 15% cement is poured into a concrete mixer, together with 10% water, 25% sand and 50% gravel. After rotating for a while, the mixer will complete the production of concrete.
