The pie charts illustrate the Australian household greenhouse gas emissions which result from using energy of average household appliances.
It is noticeable that heating devices like water heating and heating in common consume the most energy but they discharge an amount of gas emissions less than cooling, lighting, refrigeration and others appliances.
Firstly, in all Australian households, heating appliance consumption, which accounts for 42% of total energy usage release only 15% of gas emission. Meanwhile, the proportion of energy of water heating is 30% and the figure for gas emission of which is 32% respectively.
Secondly, cooling and lighting appliances account for only a small amount of energy consumption and emission. The opposite trend can be seen when comparing refrigeration and other appliances. The figure for discharging gas emission of refrigeration is 14% which is as twice much as energy usage. Moreover, other appliances also have the same proportion of refrigeration that emit exhaust gas nearly 30% while using 30% energy.
