The following two pie charts show the results of a survey into the popularity of various leisure activities among European adults in 1985 and 1995.

Given are two pie charts concerning the findings of a survey into the popularity of different hobbies among grown-ups in Europe in 1985 and 1995. Generally, there were both marked increases and decreases in the amount of time spent on each activity between the two milestones.

On the one hand, time that European adults spent on watching TV and talking with friends experienced negligible changes. Accounting for the most proportion of free time, watching TV remained stable, with 32% in 1985 compared with 30% in 1995. Likewise, people spent a little more time talking with their friends, with a slight rise from 21% in 1985 to 26% in 1995.

On the other hand, other pastimes, noticeably, suffered ups and downs between 1985 and 1995. If almost nobody said they spent time on playing computer games in 1985, this amusement accounted for 27% of Europeans' free time a decade later. Meanwhile, there was a remarkably drop in the amount of time spent on eating out, 23% compared with 8%, and talking with family, 18% compared with 7%, in 1985 and 1995, respectively.

Similarly, other interests also saw a decline from 6% in 1985 to 2% in 1995.
