The graph below gives information about car ownership in Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Given is a line chart illustrating the percentage of British family which owned different number of vehicles in Great Britain for a period of 35 years from 1971 to 2007.

Overall, the percentage of households that occupied only one car was considerably higher than all other situations during the period given whereas that was the least for families who used more than two cars at the same time. Meanwhile, the proportion of people who did not have any car dramatically fell.

In 2007, the percentage of English who owned one car claimed the greatest among all situations at around 45 percent, which was almost double that of people who occupied two cars ranked at the second (about 25 percent). However, It could be seen that the latter was only at just under 10 percent 35 years ago whereas the former was already around five times than that (nearly 45 percent).

Besides, the percentage of British who had no car dramatically decreased and reached a low in 2006 at approximately 25 percent, the figure was a half lower compared to that (just under 50 percent) in 1971, while that of households who owned more than two cars slightly went up to just over five percent in 2007.
