The line graph illustrates the total of carbon dioxide which was released by each individual in four countries given from 1967 to 2007.

Overall, as can be seen from the graph there was an upward trend in the amount of CO2 produced per person in Italy and Portugal while that for the firgure in the United Kingdom and Sweden witnessed a downward trend.

In 1967, the amount of CO2 was discharged by each person in Portugal just over 1 metric tones, but in the following year 1997 it was increased significantly to 4 metric tones each person. The average of CO2 released by people in Portugal rose remarkably in 1997, then more sharply in the next 20 years. From 1967 to 1977, the firgure for CO2 emitted per person in Italia went up significantly, growing slightly in the next 20 years and leveling out between 1997 and 2007.

In contrast, from 1967 to 1977, the average of CO2 released by each individual in the United Kingdom almost stabled by over 10 metric tones but then in the follwinng 30 years it saw a downward noticeably from 10 metric tones to nearly 8 metric tones. From 1967, there was a increase about 2 metric tones higher to 1977 in the firgure of CO2 produced by Swedish people, Then, in the next 30 years the amount dipped dramatically from approximately 11 metric tones to nearly 6 metric tones in Sweden.
