The bar chart gives information about the area where people mostly accessed the Internet from 1998 to 2004 in the UK.
Overall, it is clear that UK saw a significant fluctuation in the locations where people used the Internet between 1998 and 2004. In addition, library is the area where inhabitants surfed the Internet at least over the period.
In 1998, about 55 % people accessed the Internet at home while the percentage of people using the Internet at work and in college were lower, at about 28%, 20% respectively. The figure for the Internet users at library was the lowest, at about 12%.
On the other hand, the percentage of people accessing the Internet at work decreased from about 25% in 2002 to about 16% in 2004. This trend was similar with the figure for the Internet users in college, which declined by 2%. In contrast, the proportion of people who used the Internet rose to about 16 %. The percentage for people surfing the Internet at work still remained at about 55% after a decline in 2000.
