The graph below shows the consumption of fish and different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The line graph compare the amount of fish, chicken, beef and lamb consumed weekly per person in a EU country over a period of 25 years. A glance at the line graph reveals that the consumption of chicken over the time increased noticeably while the fish was the least consumed item during the period.

Looking into the details, in 1979 beef was the most consumed meat with an average intake of 220 grams per person per week. Thereafter the beef consumption varied in the next 10 years before a steady drop and halved in 2004. The similar trend was seen in the intake of lamb which was consumed 150 grams by a person per week in 1979 and reduced to half of that in 2004. Fish consumption by people was the lowest throughout the 25 years period and dropped from average weekly consumption of 60 grams in 1979 to 40 grams in 2004. In contrast, the consumption of chicken grew over the 25 years period; people ate 150 grams of chicken on a weekly basis in 1979 which increase up to 250 grams in 2004.

In summary, people started consuming more chicken but less beef and lamb, and remained eating only small amount of fish after 25 years passed.
